Discipline and Manners

Being a mother has its fair share of challenges. Discipline is one of the biggest that I face. I want to be consistent, fair and Godly as I raise these priceless gifts that God has entrusted to me. With discipline, comes manners. Please, Thank you, Yes/No Sir/Mam, Excuse me...etc. For the most part I can not complain at all about Jordyn in this area. She is a very polite and sweet little girl. I try not to brag about my children in fear of what will happen in a public place if I do. But, I do have a polite 4 year old girl.

ALL THAT TO SAY...Today has been one of those challenging days. I am trying to break Jordyn of telling me *whinny voice* "NO...I don't want to..." when I tell her to go to time out, clean her room, fill in the blank of anything a 4 year old girl would not want to do. She has been in time out 3 times today and spanked firmly nudged today. So, you have the scene set for this next story that I will share.

*Disclaimer* I do not usually have funny things on my blog like my friend Calista but I believe tonight you might laugh out loud.

Jordyn has just returned to the den from time out and I have explained the reason behind the discipline and told her to get ready for bath time. We are now in the bathroom and she is being bathed.

Jordyn: Mama...
Me: Yes, Jordyn.
Jordyn: While I was in time out, I pooted so, excuse me.
Me: *stifling belly laughs* Ok Jordyn...you are excused.

Ok...what 4 year old do you know that would say excuse me for a flatulent incident that no one heard but her!

Hope this makes you laugh as much as it has made me!
