Jana Claire has had a cough for about a month now and it sounds worse everyday. I took her to the Doctor the day after Christmas and he said her ears look great but she had blisters on her throat...ouch! Her nose has stopped running like a faucet but this NASTY cough is still hanging on. I don't want to be "that Mama" that takes her kid to the church nursery sounding like she has the "galloping crud" (as my Mom always called it!).
So, here I sit at home on another Sunday longing to be at church having fellowship with my Christian brothers and sisters. I so miss church when I can't be there. We are a part of such a wonderful fellowship of believers. Such a heart for unbelievers and reaching the world for Christ. Here is an example...this year our Lottie Moon Goal was enough to pay 2 missionary families on the foreign mission field for 1 year. A very lofty goal for our church that runs about 550 in worship on Sunday. Well, can I just tell you that we EXCEEDED that goal! Amazing! God is so good and it is so good to be a part of a church that listens to Him and does what He has called us to do...Go and Tell!
I am reading the Bible through this year for the first time in my life. I am not proud of that fact at all but I plan on sticking to it this year. Joey is going to do it with me so I will have some accountability. I am using "The Daily Bible" compiled by F. LeGard Smith. It really is great reading...of course it is...it is the BIBLE! DUH...Anyway...it is in chronological order and I really like that. It has commentary to go along with the daily readings. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in reading the Bible through this year. But get it now or you will be really behind!

sorry to hear JC is still not doing well. We are going through the same thing here. Elly has had the cough since the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. She has been through two bottles of decongestant and a 10 day round of antibiotics. The nose is better, the cough is hanging on, but not as bad. Now Sydney and I have it. I think it's this hot/cold weather keeping it around!!
Your Bible sounds really neat. I may check into it. I have a "One Year" Bible that I am going through. It's designed for reading the Bible in one year. It has a little of the OT...a little of the NT....and then some Psalms and Proverbs every day. It goes by the "date" like January 5 so that makes it easy to keep up with. I had good intentions of reading the entire Bible last year...but...didn't happen. I am going to try once again this year. I do good during the week, but I don't do it on the weekends and that's how I get behind and all messed up. Once you get behind, it's hard to get back on track. So....here's to us....reading the entire Bible this year.....CHEERS!!!!
P.S. I pray that JC will get better soon. Also, I am sooooo happy that all of you are part of a wonderful church.
