Cursive writing....curse you!
It might be the end of us here in the Williams house hold.
Who writes in cursive these days anyway. I use, what I like to call, the hybrid version. You know...start out printing and end the word all joined together. Never do I write slanting to the right anymore. But, for the sake of Jordyn being able to read that way we are doing our dead level best to write that way.
I love Abeka curriculum....except for that one part...cursive writing. They start teaching kids in 4 year old kindergarten cursive writing! They say it is easier for the little tykes to write curvy lines than straight. I don't know about all that but I do know that my 2nd grader CAN do it she just does not WANT to do it.
Ok, let's change the subject...pun intended.
The Williams Family officially said, "Adios" to the old Mini Van! Last Thursday, my wonderful hubby took the faithful family mobile and traded that sucker for a certified preowned 2011 Hyundai Sonata! Can I get a Whoop Whoop! I am super proud! This is the first car that Joey has purchased, on his own, that does not smell like a wet dog has been riding along with a sweaty construction man in the heat of the summer in the rain...with a leaky window! He did great! I am super thankful to our great God for providing such a wonderful ride for us! To Him be the Glory!
So, since everyone has been posting just how hot it has been, I will take my turn. I just have to say one thing. I am SUPER thankful that I am not pregnant this summer! The weather the last few days has been "cool" enough for the girls to go out and play for 20-30 minutes in the morning. (You know, when Mama needs a break from that dreaded CURSIVE WRITING!)
I love fall, and look forward to the cooler temps to come.
We will be celebrating Joey's 35th birthday with a big family party on the 20th! His B-Day is Sunday and 21st and his sister will be here to sing with him and our choir as back up. Can't wait!
Oh, and JC is LOVING school! Wants to do more everyday. I hope to encourage that learning spirit and teach her as much as possible with a happy heart!
Hope all of you who have started back to school are enjoying it as much as we are! It is good to get back in a routine.
